LOUISVILLE, KY(Special Release) -
The National Quartet Convention has

announced that legendary singer/songwriter, Bill Gaither, and his popular quartet, the Gaither Vocal Band, will be among the many multi-talented recording artists scheduled to appear during the 2008 National Quartet Convention. The event is set to take place during the week of September 8 through 13 at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center in Louisville, KY.

According to NQC Vice President, Clarke Beasley, The Gaither Vocal Band and popular quartet, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, will present the Together Showcase on Thursday, September 11. "We are thrilled that Bill Gaither will be a part of the 2008 National Quartet Convention, and we look forward to the performances of the Gaither Vocal Band and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound," Beasley stated. "As thrilled as the NQC Board is to have them, I know our attendees and supporters will be even more thrilled be able to see these phenomenal artists on the NQC stage once again."

Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, who are among the artists regularly featured on the highly successful Gaither Homecoming Tour, joined forces with The Gaither Vocal Band earlier this year to produce a DVD/CD recording, entitled Together, which was released in October, and has already boasted sales figures exceeding 50,000 units.

In addition to Thursday afternoon's Together Showcase, both The Gaither Vocal Band and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound will also be a part of Friday night's concert line-up on September 12 in Freedom Hall. "It's no secret that I love Southern Gospel Music," Gaither commented. "It's an important part of my childhood and my musical heritage, so naturally there are few things that warm my heart quite like hearing four singers and a piano rev it up! In my mind, the only thing better than a great gospel quartet is a whole week full of them! So I'm looking forward to the opportunity to participate in the National Quartet Convention with great anticipation. It is always a wonderful time to hear lots of great quartet music and connect with old friends. This year will be great fun, as well, because The Gaither Vocal Band will be joining up with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound to sing some of the songs from our Together project, which truly fulfills my belief that two quartets are better than one!"
